Common causes for sump pump failure

  • Power failure: Check the power cord. Is it damaged or unplugged? Power surges/outages can take your sump pump offline.
  • Jammed system: Significant debris in the system, or relocating the system, may cause a “stuck switch”.
  • Frozen or clogged pipes: Debris can clog your Sump Pump's discharge pipes, causing backups leading to shut-downs.
